Biography
After a 10 year hiatus and 125 pound weight loss, Katsy Chappell is back to what she loves. Stand Up Comedy! Katsy’s neighborly clothesline slice of life humor is skewed at the funny while leaving food for thought. She finds humor EVERYWHERE. She has performed her clean green humor worldwide. Some of her favorites shows have been in Africa, Japan, England. She has performed to audiences across the US bringing her brand of funny to The GRAND OLE OPRY and Madison Square Gardens to name a few.
Some of Katsy's Film/TV credits include playing opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies, HBO's Emmy Winning, INDICTMENT, YES MAN and ER to name a few. Katsy was a semi-finalist on STAR SEARCH with Ed MacMahon where she defeated 6 competitors in 5 shows. She has opened for Howie Mandel and was Patti LaBelle's opening act for two years. She has done commercial spots for Doritos, JC Penneys, Round Table Pizza and Humana to name a few. She has voiced radio ads for State Farm and Dominoes.
Katsy loves musical theater and some of her favorite roles have been Joice Heth in Barnum, Sister Hubert in Nunsense and she has played the part of Queenie in Showboat for 5 different productions including the prestigious Mendocino Music Festival, where she got to meet and dine with the matriarch of Fetzer Vineyards.
Katsy returned to the acting and comedy stage in May of 2008 and May 2010 found her touring Iraq and Kuwait entertaining the military.
She is featured in author Earlene Fowler's recent Benni Harper mystery STATE FAIR playing the part of "Katsy", a sassy cattle ranch-tress.
In her spare time Katsy enjoys delivering meals on wheels for Project Angelfood where she has been a volunteer for over 17 years. She belongs to a quilt guild and enjoys square dancing and tap dancing.
Katsy was voted entertainer of the year by the Bob Hope USO shows. Our Nations Armed Forces have called her vivacious, bodacious and outrageous!
